- ➤ The Humane Society of South Mississippi warns that fireworks can stress pets — causing some dogs to run from home. Experts advise using calming sprays from local pet stores to ease anxiety during celebrations. WXXV 25
- ➤ The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded nearly $206 million to boost rural healthcare across Mississippi. The award follows a state plan submitted last month that aims to improve patient outcomes and enhance the rural health workforce by 2031. WXXV 25

- ➤ Bay High Boys Basketball won 53 – 25 against St. Patrick in their final Christmas Classic Tournament test at Bay High. The Tigers showed a dominant performance in a game that kept spirits high. WXXV 25
