COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Law enforcement officials in Harrison County are joining forces to serve Christmas Feed the Needy meals on Christmas Day. Community members must request a meal by Friday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. by contacting local police or sheriff’s offices.  WXXV 25
  • Turan-Foley Chevrolet Cadillac hosted Cookies and Cocoa with Santa on Saturday in Gulfport, where families enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies, and photo ops with Santa & Mrs. Claus. The dealership collected toys for Toys for Tots and will keep accepting donations for upcoming drives.  WXXV 25

  • Gulfport Biloxi International Airport opens its new fleet maintenance facility today + the project consolidates operations under one roof and replaces an outdated building with a $3.24 million structure funded by the Restore Act.  WXXV 25
  • Coast Electric warns local residents about a scam selling fake energy-saving devices via social media and emails. The company says the product claiming to lower energy bills by cleaning home power is not real.  WXXV 25

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Krewe of Phoenix will host A Ball of Ice and Fire on Dec. 27 at the Frank Gruich Center from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., offering a festive event a few days after Christmas.  WXXV 25

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA projects record holiday travel with 122.4M Americans hitting the roads and over 8M flying from Dec. 20 — Jan. 1 as drivers in Mississippi are expected to benefit from fuel prices around $2.50 a gallon. This rise marks an increase over last year's figures.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Dec. 2, 2025, first graders at DeLisle Elementary in Pass Christian enjoyed a literacy event when high school students delivered five books, handwritten notes, and custom bookmarks as part of the One Million Books Giveaway—showing Pirate Nation pride.   • Jamey DuBose stepped down as Biloxi football head coach on Monday evening. He coached for two seasons—finishing 3-8 last season and 5-6 in his first 2025 season—and officials are now searching for a new coach.  WXXV 25
