- ➤ The Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve will host a Star Party on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 9 p.m. Local residents can watch the Geminids Meteor Shower — an exciting chance to enjoy the night sky. WXXV 25

- ➤ The University of Southern Mississippi receives a $2 million donation from alumnus Paul ‘Bud’ Holmes to rename its renovated criminal justice building next to M.M. Roberts Stadium. The gift will furnish the facility and support modern equipment for the criminal justice, forensic science, and security programs. WXXV 25

- ➤ Jim Currie from Pass Christian received the $10,000 Mississippi Leopold Conservation Award at the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation’s Annual Meeting for his work managing soil, water, and wildlife habitat.
