- ➤ Amtrak's president urged passengers to book early for holiday travel to avoid crowded trains, especially for the local Mardi Gras service, as ridership rose 6% to 34.5 million. - ➤ The Gulf Coast Restoration Fund Advisory Board finished reviewing 89 project applications and submitted a ranked list of projects to the Mississippi Development Authority for allocating $69 million from BP settlement funds. The list includes projects in areas such as airport extension, healthcare, and industrial development and will guide lawmakers as they develop a final recommendation in the coming session.
