- ➤ Ms. Audrey's Southern Kitchen and Catering hosted its fifth annual Thanksgiving meal drive on Thursday in Gulfport—staff and volunteers prepared and distributed hundreds of homecooked meals that drivers picked up from Mills Avenue ahead of the holiday. WXXV 25
- ➤ Gulf Coast Community Foundation launched its new GivHer Circle in Gulfport on Thursday morning to empower young women leaders—15 professional women 34 and under began a seven-month journey in leadership and philanthropy—and will meet monthly through May for training in nonprofit financial management and strategic decision making. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lizana Elementary School wrapped up its annual Thanksgiving food drive this week where students collected, packed, and sorted nearly 1,600 food items (canned, boxed, and plastic jar) for those in need. The donations will be distributed ahead of the holiday. WXXV 25
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Human Services is issuing the remaining November SNAP benefits to recipients—they are expected to receive their full balance as early as Friday. December benefits will be issued on schedule. SuperTalk Mississippi Media
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Picayune Maroon Tide beat the Hancock Hawks by a score of 52 — 20 in a playoff game and will head to Hattiesburg to face the Tigers on Friday, November 28th in the South State Championship. WXXV 25
