- ➤ Molina Healthcare of Mississippi and its partners hosted a free community baby shower for new and expecting parents in Gulfport Thursday night—offering baby gifts, diaper bags, food and door prizes to about 100 attendees. It was the sixth annual event—plans for next year are already underway. WXXV 25
- ➤ A big car show with live music, cool cars, games, and door prizes is happening today at Captain Al’s in Gulfport to benefit the South Mississippi Toys for Tots campaign — with appearances by Captain Al and Stacey Magnusen — while registration begins at 11 a.m. and tickets cost $30 or $25 with a toy donation. - ➤ Biloxi native Fred Haise turned 92 on November 14th — he served as the lunar module pilot on Apollo 13 and later helped test the space shuttle program. A statue honoring him stands between the Biloxi Lighthouse and Lighthouse Pier, marking his enduring legacy in his hometown. WXXV 25
- ➤ Biloxi hosted the sixth annual Ms. Senior World Pageant last night at the Civic Center where women 50 and older competed in interviews, evening gowns and personal platforms. Contestants from across the nation honored their military service and nonprofit leadership— the winner will be crowned Saturday evening. WXXV 25

- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Education released the 2024-25 third grade reading assessment results showing 85% of third graders passed—77% passed the spring test while students who did not pass may retake the test up to two times. WXXV 25

- ➤ Memorial Health System announced maternal fetal medicine services at its Gulfport hospital thanks to a new partnership with Obtelecare—using secure telehealth technology to let patients and providers connect with specialists for high-risk pregnancies. WXXV 25
