ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The City of D’Iberville said Davey Quave, a Public Works electrician, died on October 18 from injuries he sustained in a Highway 15 car crash on October 13 while on his way to work — services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, October 24 at Woolmarket Baptist Church with a burial at White Plains Cemetery. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Coast Transit Authority is debuting new bus stop signs along the Gulf Coast as part of its effort to modernize the transit system after the old hail system ended & the new signs show color-coded routes, coastal animal mascots, and stop IDs for riders to reference when calling dispatch. Executive Director Ninette Barrios said future updates will include new maps, cashless payment options, and a digital trip planner. WXXV 25
- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Employment Security was awarded over $5.7 million from the Department of Labor to boost shipbuilding training programs. The grant will fund programs for major employers like Ingalls Shipbuilding, Bollinger Shipbuilding and United States Marine Inc.—helping residents gain skills in welding, marine electrical work and manufacturing.
