GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Jackson County Fire Protection Service reported 143 calls in September — most of which were for rescue and EMS services with 21 for vegetation fires, 12 for car accidents and 10 for building and mobile home fires — according to its monthly report.  WXXV 25
  • Since the start of Amtrak’s Mardi Gras Service, 19,000 riders took the train with an average of 105 passengers per trip stopping at four locations in South Mississippi — Southern Rail Commission Chair Knox Ross said rising demand during Cruisin’ the Coast may lead to expanded capacity soon.  WXXV 25

  • Singing River Health System in Pascagoula is now offering Aplicor 3D—a wound care technology that uses high resolution imaging and a small sample of patient fat cells to 3D print a tissue graft that fits wounds exactly, advancing treatment for chronic conditions.  WXXV 25
