COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Gulf Coast Foam Party will host its third annual Fall Foam Fest on October 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Biloxi Town Green, where adults pay $5 and kids 12 and under get in free & wristbands for all-day kids activities cost $5 at the gate.  WXXV 25
  • OLA held its record 5K Run for Mercy this past weekend as registration more than doubled from 2024 and hundreds of runners and walkers gathered along the Mississippi Gulf Coast to support the Mary Alice Benvenutti and Coach Harry Hull Scholarship Fund. The event also featured a community shoe drive that collected nearly 200 pairs of shoes—underscoring strong local support.  Gazebo Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Cruisin' the Coast will begin on Sunday and run through October 12 as thousands of classic cars are set to arrive—Executive Director Woody Bailey said the new headquarters at Jones Park will support event operations.  WXXV 25

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Mississippi National Guard brought home about 65 service members from the Nation’s Capital on Sept. 25 at Thompson Field Air National Guard Base (70 Guardsmen had left earlier to replace them after Governor Tate Reeves approved an extension of the mission to Nov. 30). The troops were happy to return home and ready to resume normal life.  Gazebo Gazette
  • Biloxi now allows approved low-speed vehicles — mainly golf carts — on city streets with 25 mph limits, and residents must have their carts inspected by the police and registered with a $75 fee to drive safely. The rules state that carts must meet safety requirements and can only be used on designated streets to avoid fines.  Gazebo Gazette
  • Coast Transit Authority has released its fixed bus schedule for Cruisin’ the Coast—this update includes a temporary express route and several service changes to help riders avoid heavy delays on Highway 90 and Pass Road. The express route will run on October 10 and 11 from Biloxi and Gulfport Transit Centers starting at 1:00 p.m., while alternate service will operate on October 5, 8, and 9.  WXXV 25

SPORTS NEWS

  • Three members of the Biloxi Shuckers earned Southern League honors on September 23, with Joe Ayrault among those recognized—highlighting the team's strong performance this season.  WXXV 25
  • Ocean Springs native Garrett Crochet will pitch for the Red Sox in game one of the Wild Card series against the Yankees Tuesday at 5:08 p.m. CT on ESPN—he posted an 18-5 record, 255 strikeouts and a 2.59 ERA during a career-best regular season.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media
  • Tuesday saw an intense volleyball match when No. 1 Ocean Springs faced No. 2 Our Lady Academy and the Lady Greyhounds jumped on top early—winning the game three to zero in a non-district showdown.  WXXV 25
