EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Misty Chastain was named September Teacher of the Month by WXXV & Huntington Learning Center for her work as a special education inclusion teacher at D'Iberville Middle School, where she has spent nearly ten years helping her students succeed. WXXV 25
- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Education released its accountability report for the 2024-2025 school year and all South Mississippi school districts earned an A or B grade — Biloxi is among the A districts, and Poplarville had the highest graduation rate at 96%. WXXV 25
- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Education released accountability grades for the 2024‑25 school year that show a drop in public school achievement, with 80.1% of schools and 87.2% of districts earning a C or higher compared to higher percentages last year—fewer schools met the state goal of a C or better rating.
