CULTURE NEWS

  • Terror on the Coast’s Nights of Horror season kicks off Friday at the Hollywood Warehouse in Gulfport — doors, food, and the bar open at 6 and the haunt starts at 7 with a show from JD Daniels and Gunk. The season runs every weekend until November 1 and tickets are available now.  WXXV 25

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Children’s Foundation of Mississippi & Mississippi Economic Council launched an online dashboard that shows where childcare shortages exist in Mississippi. Officials said the tool tracks data from 1,400 licensed centers and 170,000 children under 5, noting that only 67% currently have access while infant care is especially tight.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a beach water contact advisory for Biloxi East Central Beach because bacteria levels are high; the beach remains open but swimmers face an increased risk until tests show safe water levels — the affected area is from St. Peter St. east to Dukate Street.  WXXV 25

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Biloxi Shuckers lost Thursday night 4-2 to the Montgomery Biscuits at Keesler Federal Park, ending their season and playoff run. The team finished 74-64, and manager Joe Ayrault—who battled stage 3 colon cancer—said the season went fast as they look ahead to an April 3 start.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media
