BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Starting at 6 a.m. today, new coastal waters near Biloxi open for commercial and recreational shrimping—these include parts south and west of Biloxi Bay near Deer Island. The season runs through December 31 except in the waters south of the intracoastal and west of the Gulfport Ship Channel, which will close on April 30 next year. WXXV 25
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Visit Mississippi unveiled its float for the January Rose Parade for its 137th edition. The float—titled 'Where Creativity Blooms'—honors cultural icons such as Tennessee Williams and Elvis and will feature live music by Charlie Worsham. WXXV 25
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Biloxi drivers will see Beauvoir Road from Highway 90 to Oakwood Drive closed from September 16 until September 18 for repaving work—drivers planning to access the north side should use Pass Road instead. WXXV 25
- ➤ Drivers in Biloxi are advised that the westbound right lane and the Beauvoir Road turn lane on Highway 90—from Brady Drive to Oakmont Place—will be closed from September 17 to 19 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to allow crews to repave Beauvoir Road. WXXV 25
