The Kroc Center will celebrate its 15th anniversary next week & host a Scholastic Book Fair during Spirit Week from Sept.
14 to 18. Director Danielle Emery said the festivities include various celebrations for visitors.

A Gulfport lottery player won $1 million after buying a $30 (millionaire maker) ticket Monday at a Shell station in Long Beach.
The anonymous winner, who has previously collected smaller prizes, said they will buy a new truck and save the remainder.

State Health Officer Dr. Dan Edney said Mississippi's infant mortality rate in 2025 fell to fewer than nine deaths per 1,000 live births compared to 9.7 in 2024.
The health department launched a campaign during Infant Mortality Awareness Month to promote practices that help mothers and babies.
