CRIME NEWS
- ➤ D’Iberville police arrested 30-year-old Lane Wesley Blatchford (a Prattville man) on robbery charges after he entered Hancock Whitney Bank on September 3 at 3:00 p.m., used a restroom request as a ruse to return, handed a note to demand money, and fled on foot before US Marshalls Service located him in the 10000 block of Central Avenue and he was booked with a $250,000 bond. - ➤ A Hattiesburg man pleaded guilty to shooting a Biloxi police officer and four others during spring break festivities at Surf Style on April 16 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison with 5 years of supervised release—he is expected to be extradited to Georgia for additional charges. - ➤ D’Iberville High School went into a precautionary lockdown yesterday after a call-in threat and law enforcement confirmed that all students and staff are safe—school operations have returned to normal. WXXV 25
