- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is hosting a photo contest for its 2026 calendar—entries showing Gulf Coast marine resources must be emailed by Oct. 17 with high-res JPEG images and photographer details. - ➤ Biloxi City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2589 on August 26 after a 7-0 vote to amend Chapter 2, Article 14 of the municipal facilities code. The ordinance is available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Clerk of Council office, the Biloxi Public Library, or the Community Development Building. Gazebo Gazette
- ➤ City of Biloxi is inviting sealed proposals to lease the old public library at 124 Lameuse Street with submissions accepted at the Mayor’s Office until 10:00 a.m. on October 15. - ➤ Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson announced that National Voter Registration Month has begun and his office will host events at Northwest Mississippi Community College (Sept. 15), Millsaps College (Sept. 17), Hinds Community College (Sept. 24) and the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport (Sept. 29). - ➤ The city of Biloxi will hold a Building Official hearing on a complaint against Dana Demeter McMeans at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10 at the Municipal Building—676 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
