- ➤ The Gulf Coast Skateparks Association is hosting a free youth skate clinic at Biloxi DIY Skatepark (helmets required) this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with parents needing to stay the whole time for safety. WXXV 25
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Mississippi Heritage Trust Photography Contest is underway and entries must be submitted by September 1. Public voting will take place from September 8 through September 22 and the winner will receive $250 and have their photo published in elevation magazine—framed and raffled. WXXV 25
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality lifted water contact advisories at Long Beach, Biloxi East Central Beach and Gulfport Harbor Beach after water samples reached acceptable bacteria levels. The department also recognized its enHance Environmental Stewardship program on August 11—awarding 12 organizations for their environmental efforts. Gazebo Gazette
