- ➤ In Biloxi, Back Bay Mission served 230 people in 2018 but now serves over 700—rising inflation and higher living costs are blamed for the surge in homelessness. The nonprofit asks local leaders to open an overnight shelter on the Coast—hoping this step will provide a sustainable solution for residents. WXXV 25
- ➤ Amtrak will return to South Mississippi later this month with several coastal cities hosting celebration events — in Biloxi, the Mardi Gras Service will make a brief stop on August 16 from 10:50 to 11:05 before the public launch on August 18. Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Pascagoula and Ocean Springs have also scheduled events to welcome the service. WXXV 25
