- ➤ Biloxi police said an investigation is ongoing into a deadly crash on Popp’s Ferry Bridge late Sunday night that involved two cars + 45-year-old Leonardo Ricco was pronounced dead at the scene with no other injuries reported. WXXV 25

- ➤ Biloxi PD is investigating a homicide in the Keesler Circle area after a welfare check call on July 19 led officers to find a deceased person and evidence of a crime—officials identified a person of interest but have made no arrests. WXXV 25
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, a state auditor’s report found that nearly 75% of Mississippi public schools began classes in July while the Education Enhancement Fund cards activate on August 1, forcing teachers to pay for supplies out-of-pocket. The report urged that setting the activation date to July 15—unlocking almost $18 million for 24,000 teachers and over 329,000 students—would ease the financial burden at the start of school.
