SuperTalk Mississippi Media’s 14th Annual Radiothon benefiting Palmer Home for Children is underway today on 12 talk stations statewide.
Listeners can tune in until 6 p.m. to hear interviews from children in care, alumni, staff & supporters.
The 11th annual Gulf Coast Big Rig Truck Show is set to kick off today at 10 a.m. at the Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi and run through Saturday, featuring a Chrome on the Coast truck competition and networking for exhibitors.
Admission is $15 (free with active military ID).
On Wednesday, Polar Star Lodge No. 154 donated $2,500 to Mississippi Heroes to expand its Ramp it up Project that builds free wheelchair ramps for veterans, seniors, and others with mobility challenges in the Gulf Coast area — the donation supports local efforts to improve accessibility.

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch joined a multistate settlement with generic drug maker Glenmark over claims the company inflated prescription drug prices.
The state will receive nearly $237,000 from the $29.6 million deal with 43 other states participating.
MDOT equipment operators showcased precision and safety at the Gulfport Sportsplex during the 26th annual State Equipment Operators Roadeo.
Winners from six districts will advance to the Southeastern Regional Roadeo in Virginia this October (proving their road-ready skills).
Ocean Springs firefighters finished a three-day training course with hands-on rail emergency tactics — using specialized equipment brought by CSX Railroad — to build confidence in handling hazardous spills and train emergencies.
