ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • More than $3 million has been awarded to coastal wastewater projects by the Treasury’s RESTORE Act grants, with $1,700,919 set to connect 125 septic tanks in Jackson County and $1,368,081 to upgrade a pump station in Hancock County.   • A 10-year-old girl named Mia Van Sittert in Latimer is raising money to help Coast children fight scoliosis and other rare diseases through her business Bakin’ My Way.
