  • Shelly Laughlin and Hayley James from the Junior Auxiliary of Ocean Springs and Biloxi spoke in studio this afternoon about the 19th annual Gala for the Kids (Fireflies and Starry Nights Gala).   • A 32-year-old man from Jackson accused of first-degree murder after killing a bystander at West Side Park during a family gathering turned himself in Monday morning in Gulfport—police said the victim was not part of the feud.  WXXV 25

  • U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker and Education Board member Mary Werner are urging the state to keep the history assessment in public schools as the Board plans to eliminate the test after a final vote later in June—arguing that testing on history is needed to prepare students for civic duties and informed voting.
