- ➤ Dr. Jessica Pruett from Southern Miss was honored with the BioOne Ambassador Award for her work on Mississippi oyster research—her studies on restoration after the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Bonnet Carré spillway openings offer new insights into the Blue Economy. - ➤ Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will be recognized on Thursday in Jackson for receiving a Mississippi AI Talent Accelerator Program grant that will support AI training and projects across the state — the investment will train 100 certified workers and equip students with AI fundamentals. - ➤ The Mississippi Highway Patrol monitored traffic near Buc-ee’s on Monday by watching the area around Menge Avenue and I-10 to keep roads clear. The agency said it will continue monitoring the situation over the next few days—taking action if conditions worsen. WXXV 25
- ➤ Mississippi’s new seafood labeling law requires all seafood and crawfish to be clearly marked as either imported or domestic—enforcement begins July 1. MDMR and MDAC will inspect businesses in grocery stores, restaurants and seafood markets to ensure the labels meet the new requirements. WXXV 25
