- ➤ USM & MGCCC launched the Coastal Pathways Scholarship on May 29 at the Gulf Park campus to help MGCCC graduates earn their bachelor’s degrees at Southern Miss with an annual $5,000 award. Applicants must meet requirements such as a 2.5 GPA, at least 15 credit hours each semester, and in-person classes at Gulf Park. Gazebo Gazette

- ➤ Mississippi lawmakers passed a $7.135 billion state budget on May 29 to fund government agencies for fiscal year 2026 starting July 1—Governor Tate Reeves had reconvened the session in Jackson to complete the vote. Gazebo Gazette
