EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at North Woolmarket Middle School explored career paths today in Harrison County as they met 15 vendors from healthcare, finance and public safety. The fair provided seventh and eighth graders with interactive exhibits (professional talks and real-life displays) that sparked fresh ideas for their futures.  WXXV 25
  • The Harrison County School District earned top honors in a state heart health challenge as sixteen schools raised over $26,000 and helped 136 families learn CPR. Lyman Elementary led by raising over $5,000 and local youth ambassador Jaxon Patterson (who had open heart surgery as an infant) shared his story.  WXXV 25

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System earned a five-star overall rating from CMS for 2026 — the rating reflects patient safety, re-admissions, patient experience, and timely care while honoring dedicated health workers serving veterans.  WXXV 25

SPORTS NEWS

  • After breaking several school records this season—including most wins and a single-game RBI mark by Blake Gill—the Baseball Blue Devils compete at the Class 6A State Championship at Trustmark Park today at 10am if game three is needed, following contests earlier this week. Fans are invited to cheer the team.  WXXV 25
