- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Transportation has released its 2026 hurricane evacuation guide online today—available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese and featuring maps and an emergency checklist—and will distribute printed copies via newspapers, city halls, and libraries on the Coast in early June. - ➤ Officials with MEMA advised residents on Monday, May 4 to prepare before hurricane season by building emergency supply kits, reviewing insurance policies, and checking evacuation routes before a storm threatens the coast. WXXV 25
- ➤ The state department of agriculture and commerce accepts applications for its wild hog control program (open May 1 until May 15) to help landowners address wild hog damage across all counties. Commissioner Andy Gipson says the program, which includes smart traps and training, will continue to deliver results. WXXV 25
