- ➤ Miss Hopkins' third grade class at Hope Academy raised $900 for Elijah’s Closet by selling lemonade twice a week over several weeks—donating funds to purchase high-demand items for the charity, which thanked the students today. WXXV 25
- ➤ Back Bay Mission in Biloxi received a major donation from Mississippi Power that supplied its food pantry with fresh water, frozen meats, fruits, and vegetables. The donation will help many local families in need. WXXV 25
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Second Liners Mardi Gras Club awarded high school seniors over $13,000 in scholarships at Good Deeds Community Center today, as part of its effort to boost educational opportunities. The Biloxi-based club celebrated local students and their future success. WXXV 25
- ➤ Long Beach High School senior Andria Hamilton earned a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood for her academic excellence, leadership, and community service. She will study Chemical Engineering at Dartmouth College this fall (her school noted her many achievements). Gazebo Gazette
