- ➤ Moss Point native Daniel Stallworth advanced to the Top 7 on American Idol after a praised Disney Night performance on Monday, Jan. 26—impressing judges with his vocal talent. The show will resume on Monday, April 27 with a Taylor Swift theme. SuperTalk Mississippi Media
- ➤ The Pass Christian Historical Society will host the 2026 Tour of Homes on Sunday, May 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. Locals can tour four historic homes and visit the Society for tea and local history while tickets are available at $35 in advance and $40 on the day. Gazebo Gazette

- ➤ St. Martin High School Principal Shea Scarborough addressed a call Monday that spread threat rumors by saying the school is in constant contact with Jackson County Sheriff's Department and found no evidence of a threat (community members should check directly if they hear any rumors). WXXV 25

- ➤ Monday marked the 16th anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, a disaster that sent millions of barrels of oil into the Gulf and affected marine life, coastal areas and local livelihoods. Recovery efforts — led by research teams — continue to protect the fragile ecosystem. WXXV 25
