- ➤ The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Hancock, Ocean Springs and Jackson County Chambers to announce the 2025 One Coast Award recipients on April 15 at Beau Rivage in Biloxi — more than 400 people attended. The awards, started in 2002 to honor community and young business leaders, continue a coast tradition that shows how working together helps everyone — a belief that what benefits one benefits all. - ➤ Two Romanian men, Alexandru Ionut Gheorghe and Marian Aurelian Neacsu, were sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for installing card skimmers at Mississippi stores in June and July 2024 while their codefendant, Bogdan Gabriel Radu (who pleaded guilty), awaits sentencing as part of a scheme that also defrauded over $85,000 in SNAP benefits. - ➤ Today at the Biloxi Civic Center, city officials held a meeting to address the ongoing homelessness issue at Broadwater Property (a concern raised by residents and council members over several months). - ➤ Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport now offers travelers a way to ship items prohibited by TSA instead of surrendering them at the checkpoint, with the second-floor station charging a $10 fee (the program is run by the airport, not TSA). WXXV 25
- ➤ Biloxi travelers must obtain a REAL ID by May 7 at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport’s first-floor service bureau open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. TSA Federal Security Director Kim Jackson warned that without the Gold Star on your license you will face enhanced screening and may miss your flight — travel delays could impact your plans. WXXV 25
