COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A first-of-its-kind Banana Run will take place April 25 on the Biloxi Ocean Springs Bridge. Check in begins at 6:30 a.m. and the run starts at 8 a.m. for participants dressed as bananas. WXXV 25
- ➤ Following Deputy Jimerson's funeral, hundreds of law enforcement officers joined local supporters near the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge as a procession traveled across Harrison and Jackson counties on Friday afternoon — three military helicopters flew overhead as flags waved in his honor. - ➤ St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach hosted a Blessing of the Jeeps Saturday where Father Satish and Father Louis blessed many vehicles — including some electronic ones for kids, with a food festival featuring music and mimosas. The church thanked volunteers and community groups for their support. WXXV 25

- ➤ WXXV News 25 team earned recognition Saturday night at the 2026 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards hosted by the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters. Megan Fayard was named rookie of the year and a Friday Night showcase team received state honor for its sports coverage. WXXV 25
- ➤ Biloxi is set to celebrate its seafood heritage with the 'Stars, Stripes & Seafood' event, which received an America250 Mississippi mini grant to honor founding seafood leaders. The public event will be held on July 3 at the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum with reenactments, free tours, and seafood tastings. Gazebo Gazette
- ➤ La Terre Farms in the Kiln will launch its two-day Flower Festival this weekend in partnership with Walter Anderson Museum and Arts, Hancock County, on April 18 and 19. WXXV 25

- ➤ Singing River Health System hosted its 14th Stroke Care Symposium at the Golden Nugget ball on Friday, where health care professionals from across the Gulf South met for training on emergency response, treatment, and rehabilitation (including stroke survivor remarks). WXXV 25
