- ➤ The Gulfport Biloxi International Airport will add a new direct flight to Orlando, Florida—its first route to the city—while still offering flights to Tampa and Las Vegas. - ➤ Gulfport Police charged a 24-year-old man—Tyran Gable—with first-degree murder and aggravated assault after he shot church deacon Eddie Shed amid a child custody dispute during an Easter egg hunt at a sports complex off Prudie Circle on Saturday, where one victim died at the scene and another was airlifted for treatment. - ➤ Maxim van Norden, a Southern Miss professor who teaches about water mapping, was inducted into the Hydrographer Hall of Fame at the U.S. Hydro Conference in Wilmington (N.C.) by the Board Trustees of the Hydrographic Society of America.
