- ➤ The Mississippi Coast Coliseum will host an equipment rodeo and expo on Wednesday, Apr. 8 as Hol-Mac Corporation offers certification training, live demonstrations, and expert access. Locals can come to see the equipment displays firsthand. WXXV 25
- ➤ Mississippi Power has dedicated its Gulfport training center to retired leader Anthony Wilson — the 2024 facility offers technical and safety training for power teams. WXXV 25
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast held the opening night of its fourth annual production, 'The Promise,' at the Popps Ferry Road sanctuary yesterday — the play retelling the biblical Easter story will be performed today at 6 p.m. and on Sunday at 11 a.m. WXXV 25
- ➤ In Gulfport, the Mississippi Aquarium hosts its Penguin Easter Egg Hunt today on the west lawn. Guests join free egg hunts and photos with the Easter Bunny while children 1 to 12 receive wristbands to keep the game fair — one golden egg wins two annual passes. WXXV 25
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, Harrison Central Elementary held Ninja Warrior Day where students practiced obstacle challenges led by Ryan Stratis after winning a statewide fitness drawing. The event was sponsored by Project Fit America and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the Mississippi Foundation to boost active learning. WXXV 25
- ➤ Officials from Mississippi State University and Keesler Air Force Base celebrated the final beam being lifted into place for the Mississippi Cyber and Technology Center along Biloxi's Gulf Coast today; the hub for cyber training + higher education and industry partnerships will complete its interior soon. - ➤ Infinity Science Center is inviting residents to register for its Astro and Artemis Camps, which will offer hands-on STEM adventures this summer at its facility (details provided by Steven Cruthirds). WXXV 25
