Harrah's Gulf Coast will soon open Sizzle and Salt—an upcoming restaurant in the hotel lobby overlooking the pool deck—that will serve Southwestern dishes including eggrolls, smash burgers and a variety of margaritas.

Nearly 60 middle school students competed on March 18 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in a math tournament, and the top winners will advance to the state competition on April 12 at the Mississippi School of Mathematics and Science in Columbus.

On March 31, HB 598 cleared its final vote and will become law on July 1 — raising rates for public notice ads for the first time in 27 years.

The bill, filed by Rep. Jason Barnett, passed the House vote by 117 to 1 and allows newspaper publishers to charge 25 cents per word for first notices and 23 cents per word for repeat insertions while also permitting annual rate increases based on the consumer price index.
