  • Mississippi Heroes launches 'Ramp it Up 100' today to raise $50,000 for building wheelchair ramps along the Gulf Coast; the campaign invites 100 local partners to contribute $500 each to address growing accessibility needs.  WXXV 25
  • Process Deputy Gail McDougal (battling stage three breast cancer) will have a benefit hosted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at the Harrison County Courthouse parking garage in Gulfport on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with $10 jambalaya and pulled pork plates sold to support her medical expenses and family.  WXXV 25

  • At Mert’s Satsumas in Gulfport, small white flowers are blooming after a harsh winter, raising hopes for a strong harvest later this season — growers are watching the weather closely.  WXXV 25

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced over the weekend that Corrections Deputy Ryan Peterson passed away. The department said he served the community with dedication & asked residents to keep his family and coworkers in their thoughts.  WXXV 25

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Biloxi Shuckers announced their 2026 roster on March 31, which includes top prospect Jesús Made + 25 other players. The team will start its season on April 3 in Huntsville and host their first home game on April 7 at Keesler Federal Park.  Gazebo Gazette
  • Harrison Central beat St. Martin 10-5 at The Pat on a spring night in a Class 7A Region Four game — they scored one run in the 2nd and five in the 3rd — before game two is set for Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Martin.  WXXV 25
