- ➤ Mississippi officials announced today that S&P Global Ratings upgraded the state’s outlook from negative to stable after record investment earnings reached one billion dollars. Governor Tate Reeves and Treasurer David McRae cited fiscal discipline as proof of the improved outlook. WXXV 25
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, the new semi-pro Gulf Coast Raiders hosted the Tri County Savages at St. Patrick Catholic High School and played a close game before losing 30-28. WXXV 25
- ➤ Harrison Central’s Zahkarri McGlothin tied the all-time Mississippi long jump record on Thursday with a 25 ft 10 in leap in Gulfport (ranking him as the top jumper nationally) and will keep competing in upcoming meets. WXXV 25
- ➤ Vancleave softball defeated Biloxi 11 to 3 in a non-district game on Saturday in Biloxi & the team got off to a hot start and never looked back. WXXV 25
- ➤ The 2026 St. Stanislaus basketball state champions will be celebrated with a parade starting Thursday, Mar. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at Hancock and Bookter by the SSC gym, turning onto Union and Second and ending at Bookter and Beach Boulevard. WXXV 25
