- ➤ A Gulfport man pled guilty to kidnapping, aggravated assault domestic violence and witness tampering and was sentenced to 30 years after he assaulted his girlfriend, who sustained a broken jaw, strangulation and other injuries. WXXV 25
- ➤ Ferrell T. McCord from Gulfport pled guilty on March 20 to kidnapping, aggravated assault domestic violence and witness tampering after attacking his girlfriend on May 25, and he was sentenced to 30 years—20 in custody with 5 years of post-release supervision—with a no-contact order against him. - ➤ Stone Elementary principal Sandra Danzey was named a finalist for the 2025 Mississippi Administrator of the Year award by the Mississippi Department of Education for Congressional District 4—she will later compete for a $5,000 stipend and professional recognition at an event scheduled for 11 a.m. April 25 at the Jackson Convention Complex.
