CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, March 14th, the Trinity Episcopal Church St. Monica Guild held its 95th annual Silver Tea at Glenn Mueller’s home on Scenic Drive in Pass Christian to raise funds for local charities. More than 100 guests visited the historic venue built in 1850—nicknamed The Light House—while making donations at the door. Gazebo Gazette
- ➤ William the penguin at Mississippi Aquarium is competing in the March of the Penguins contest as staff ask visitors to vote starting March 16th. Voting rounds last two days and will run each Sunday through Tuesday until April 15th+ some rounds will only take votes on Facebook or Instagram. WXXV 25
- ➤ At St. Thomas Apostle Church’s LIFE Teen Ministry a guest speaker explained how Catholics believe the bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus during Mass. The talk linked this doctrine to the inspiring legacy of Blessed Carlo Acutis (a young role model who blended faith with technology) and encouraged youth to explore their spirituality. Gazebo Gazette

- ➤ MGCCC student Allison Richards has been named a 2025 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar after scoring the highest among nearly 2,100 applicants. The student who studies animals and wants to be a vet—who leads campus groups—will get a $2,250 scholarship and be honored on April 15, 2025 at a Phi Theta Kappa event in Nashville. WXXV 25
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Tate Reeves declared a State of Emergency Saturday night—after severe storms and tornadoes killed six and injured 29 in several counties. The order will let the state use its resources to support recovery as crews work to restore power and assess damage in 21 counties. SuperTalk Mississippi Media

- ➤ Wilson & Associates, PLLC is set to hold a public sale on April 8, 2025 — the sale will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the south side of the Courthouse, where Lot Three in Village Green Estates Subdivision will be sold after a default on a deed of trust. Gazebo Gazette
