  • Due to potential severe weather, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled its Touch-A-Truck event to March 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Long Beach Harbor—admission is free and for more information, call Anna Claire Perronne at 228—604—0014.  WXXV 25
  • Sarah Cortell Vandersypen with the United MSD Foundation spoke on WXXV Studio about the upcoming Zebra Run for Rare Diseases set for March 29th, 2025. Registration is now open+ local community members can sign up.  WXXV 25

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a beach water contact advisory for Biloxi East Central Beach from St. Peter St. to Dukate St. because bacteria levels may cause illness— the advisory will lift when water tests show safe levels.  Gazebo Gazette
  • IMMS staff released a cold-stunned Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle on Friday morning in front of Edgewater Mall—Barrie Nelson from Governor Reeves’ office visited as her daughter Zoey led the official release and the turtle was also named Zoey.  WXXV 25

  • Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 returned to Gulfport after a six-month deployment—soldiers reunited with families who had eagerly awaited their return. The group shared tearful, joyful moments as they celebrated coming home and began reconnecting with life off duty.  WXXV 25
