- ➤ On Saturday, 228 Day will be celebrated at Keesler Federal Park as a free showing of Lilo and Stitch begins at 5:45 p.m. with food & drink specials, exclusive merch, and pet adoptions by the Humane Society. WXXV 25
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students from Biloxi, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and D’Iberville attended Jackson County Fire Protection Team’s field training on aerial apparatus in Jackson County. Certification testing for the 20-participant class is set for Monday after days of lectures and practical skill exercises. WXXV 25
- ➤ Keesler Federal Credit Union honored local educators at the 2026 Educator Impact Awards (recognizing outstanding teachers from across the Gulf Coast for their classroom efforts). The event celebrated the contributions of educators serving Biloxi and nearby communities. WXXV 25

- ➤ Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College hosted the 54-hole Tommy Snell Invitational at Sunkist Country Club, honoring former Bulldog coach Tommy Snell; no. 8 Meridian Community College won by three shots with winning score 19+ among 13 teams.
