COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Rotary Club of Pass Christian awarded 2025-2026 grants to three local organizations supporting youth programs — an after-school project, school music classes, and Boys and Girls Clubs scholarships. The club, which celebrated 100 years last May, meets Thursdays at the Yacht Club.  Gazebo Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Gulf Coast Winter Classics is in full swing today at Harrison County Fairgrounds — drawing horse owners and riders from across the country for a premier equestrian event. Dave Elliott spoke with the founder during his visit.  WXXV 25

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at Harrison Central High School attended a career fair on Friday that brought together over 35 businesses (spanning finance, medical, media, construction, and law enforcement) with 70 professionals offering real-world advice to help shape their futures.  WXXV 25
  • Our Lady Academy senior Elizabeth Simpson was named a National Merit Finalist after scoring highly on the PSAT — a test that honors academic excellence — and she will now compete for scholarships awarded this spring.  Gazebo Gazette
  • Dr. Barbara Thomas from Harrison County was elected by the MSBA Delegate Assembly on Nov. 18 to represent the Fourth Congressional District on the Board of Directors for a one-year term, joining a team that will guide local school board training and public education policies.  Gazebo Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Mississippi Power partnered with Mississippi State University to safely tag two bald eaglets from a nest on private property in Biloxi today. Scientists fitted the birds with GPS trackers so they can track their flight and growth over time.  WXXV 25

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • D'Iberville received $1.14 million in funding from MDOT to build a new sidewalk corridor on D'Iberville Boulevard connecting Lamey Bridge Road and Auto Mall Parkway with a safe crossing at I-110. Project development will begin after design and bidding phases — construction will follow in phases.  Gazebo Gazette

  • Shuck Cancer Gulf Coast is inviting local community leaders to join its 2026 Ambassadors Leadership Class, aimed at driving change in cancer support. Nominations are now open and further details were shared by Jesse Sunderman and Susie Davis.  WXXV 25
