BUSINESS NEWS

  • Dr. Benjamin Weldon has been named the new CEO of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce and will assume his role on March 9. A Southern Miss graduate, he brings over a decade of workforce development experience from his work at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.  WXXV 25

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The westbound ramp at County Farm Road on I-10 will close next Monday at 7 p.m. and reopen Tuesday at 6 a.m. for paving work; drivers should use caution near workers.  WXXV 25

SPORTS NEWS

  • St. Patrick girls soccer won a 5-1 game against Sacred Heart on Saturday, earning a spot in the South State Championship for the team from Biloxi.  WXXV 25
  • Mississippi native Ben Brown, who grew up in Ocean Springs and played at Ole Miss, overcame injury setbacks before helping the New England Patriots reach the Super Bowl and sign a two-year extension. He shared his inspiring journey with WXXV News.  WXXV 25
  • Dozens of South Mississippi student wrestlers earned podium finishes at the 2026 MissHSAA Boys and Girls Individual State Wrestling Tournament last weekend (Vancleave won the boys team championship while Ocean Springs topped the girls).  WXXV 25
