COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Volunteers for Mardi Gras parades & cleanup are asking paradegoers to help reduce trash by using proper bins and choosing reusable items. Volunteer Evelyn McQueen warns that leftover waste, including plastic beads, may harm local waterways if it enters storm drains.  WXXV 25
  • Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System is hosting its annual Mardi Gras parade today at the Biloxi VA Medical Center, where attendees line up at 9:15 a.m. and the parade rolls out at 10 a.m., with a free ceremony following in Building 17 recreation hall.  WXXV 25

CULTURE NEWS

  • Biloxi’s Holy Family Parish group, led by Bishop Louis Khineman and Pastor Fr. Mike Austin, recently returned from a transformative pilgrimage in the Holy Land. They visited sacred sites including Mount Tabor and the Church of the Nativity to deepen their faith and connect with history.  Gazebo Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • St. Patrick boys soccer won a 7-0 match against North Forrest Saturday as the team began its postseason push. The team will build on this victory in its upcoming games.  WXXV 25
  • The Pass Christian High tennis team announced its inaugural pickleball tournament scheduled for March 7 at Picklr in Biloxi, with registration open until Feb. 27. Free shirts go to the first 30 teams, and food plus prizes will be provided for an $80 team entry fee.  WXXV 25
  • St. Stanislaus soccer earned a 6-0 win over Bogue Chitto in the first round of the MHSAA playoffs, scoring six goals in the second half. Highlights from the game were shared by WXXV News 25.  WXXV 25
