- ➤ In Bay St. Louis, the Hancock County Library System opened its first year-round used bookstore with over 3,500 donated books to support library programs (all managed by volunteers). New books arrive weekly to refresh the collection for community readers. WXXV 25
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today at Lyman Community Center in Gulfport, seniors gathered for the 2026 Senior Mardi Gras Mambo, enjoying live music, dancing, vendors, door prizes and plenty of food. WXXV 25
- ➤ Several Mardi Gras parades will roll across South Mississippi this weekend. The Long Beach Parade will start Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Long Beach as parades in Pascagoula and Vancleave occur Saturday and the Krewe of Nereids will parade in Waveland on Sunday. WXXV 25
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters in Ocean Springs trained on a new drone today to boost safety during emergencies. The device will aid in wildland fires, searches, hazardous material incidents, and disaster responses to keep crews and the public secure. WXXV 25
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ College baseball players from MSU, Ole Miss and Southern Miss earned preseason all-conference honors, including Ace Reese, Noah Sullivan, Hunter Elliott and Colby Allen.
