  • On Monday, D’Iberville Police delivered donations from their weekend drive to Coldwater residents hit by the winter storm + local leaders say the contributions will help ease hardships in the community.  WXXV 25
  • The Salvation Army reopens its Gulfport Center of Hope shelter as cold temperatures return, offering beds, heat, and essential services to those facing homelessness. Officials advise anyone in need to use the shelter as conditions worsen today.  WXXV 25
  • The Krewe of Nereids parade will roll on Sunday, Feb. 8 in Hancock County at noon. Queen Doris the 58th and the Nereids captain provided details for the event.  WXXV 25

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hancock Whitney Bank donated $25,000 to UMMC’s School of Dentistry to support its 10th annual Dental Mission Week in Jackson. The donation (its third yearly gift) will help provide free dental services such as cleanings and extractions to uninsured residents.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two Biloxi High football standouts signed on Wednesday for National Signing Day + Jaquan Thompson will join Jones College while Jaylan Johnson will play for Mississippi Delta Community College in the fall, advancing their athletic and academic careers.  WXXV 25
  • Seven Pass Christian athletes signed with colleges on Wednesday afternoon in four sports and praised high school coaches + teammates for their guidance.  WXXV 25
  • The Milwaukee Brewers announced the 2026 coaching staff for the Biloxi Shuckers — Mike Guerrero returns as manager and Kevin Martir, Josh Spence, Matt Lipka, and Tyson Cooper join the team while Joe Ayrault becomes field coordinator. Their first home game is Tuesday, April 7 at Keesler Federal Park.  Gazebo Gazette
