CULTURE NEWS

  • Biloxi Shuckers announced a 228 Day celebration to honor the Gulf Coast on Feb. 28 at Keesler Federal Park starting at 5 p.m. The free event includes a showing of (Lilo and Stitch) at 5:45 p.m.  WXXV 25
  • Danica Hart, a Poplarville native and former member of Chapel Hart, launched her 2026 solo tour at Ground Zero Blues Club last Friday in Biloxi — she shared her simple message urging fans to face fear and embrace new beginnings.  WXXV 25

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Four Biloxi firefighters have been promoted to lieutenant, including Spencer Cosper, Conner Kelly, Mike Hill, and Austin Strawn, as announced today. The department said they earned trust and are ready to guide the team and train new recruits.  WXXV 25

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Cancer Society urges Mississippians to assess their personal cancer risk during Cancer Prevention Month+ local residents are encouraged to learn about early detection and preventive measures.  SuperTalk Mississippi Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ocean Springs hosted the Junior High-Junior Varsity Wrestling Championships on Saturday — Vancleave won the junior high title while East Central claimed the junior varsity crown with Ocean Springs finishing second in both divisions, and Conner Dronet and Tyler Newhard earned MVP honors.  WXXV 25
  • South Mississippi's 6-8U Junior Seawolves won a series over the Junior Drillers in Lafayette this weekend with two wins, one tie and one loss. Goalie Fenway Aldrich recorded a shutout and scored while Fynlee Graham, Rowan Sorensen and Hudson Knoll added key plays.  WXXV 25
  • Chris Fortenberry was named head football coach at Harrison Central High School and made his debut at a Friday meet and greet with the Gulfport community. He joined from Columbia High School + helped win a title run, and he plans to build a culture of hard work.  WXXV 25
