- ➤ The Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art announced it was awarded a $20,000 America250 Legacy Grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council to restore and update the Pleasant Reed House—Biloxi’s historic home that honors African American craftsmanship. Funding aims to preserve Mississippi stories as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. WXXV 25

- ➤ Goodwill of South Mississippi launched Goodreads at Bel-Aire and Crossroads Elementary in Gulfport with Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley & Goodwill's mascot Sunny the Smiling G reading to students who each took home a book. The program will expand and volunteers are needed. WXXV 25

- ➤ The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce will accept online applications from Feb. 1 through Feb. 15 for landowners in all 82 counties to request smart traps for wild hog control — eligible applicants must meet acreage and damage criteria and will receive necessary training.
