COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Harrison County Career and Technical Center is hosting a teddy bear donation drive for Batson Children’s Hospital until January 23. Drop-off locations include D’Iberville High School, West Harrison High School, and the center (bears must be new with no sound chips, moving parts, or electrical components). WXXV 25
- ➤ Coast businessman W.C. Fore died Thursday at age 83—his wake is set for next Friday, Jan. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport, and last August MGCCC named a new road the W.C. Fore Parkway after he donated the land. WXXV 25
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Walter Anderson Museum of Art announced its accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, one of the highest recognitions for museums. This achievement supports its ongoing mission to preserve and share Walter Anderson’s legacy. WXXV 25
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ West Harrison won 51-37 over St. Stanislaus this past weekend, scoring 16-0 in the second quarter to build a strong lead. The victory improved their record to 18-1 for the season. WXXV 25
- ➤ D’Iberville linebacker Caleb Triplett committed to Southern Miss after the Navy All-American Bowl on Saturday, choosing the Golden Eagles over North Texas. He had 56 tackles + eight tackles-for-loss last season and was named Team Mississippi MVP in December. WXXV 25
